Training

Yes, training a necessary evil, but we all enjoy it. So to get right to it:

Where do we train?

The Toronto Saracens train at Sunnybrook Park during the summer season. Training sessions are on Monday's and Wednesday's starting at 6:30pm sharp. Warm up and stretching should be done prior to 6:30pm on your own!!. We have fantastic trainers/atheltic therapists (Tara, Kelly, Sandy and Sue) there for taping and assisting in stretching exercises before and during practise. (Our trainers and therapists are at the weekend games as well). The U-19 colt's team also commences at 6:30pm at Sunnybrook Park under the guidance of Alex Falconer.

The Men's Senior Teams are under the watchful eye of Kevin Jones (check out his web site... Hey Kevin why didn't you tell us you're computer literate?!)

How Long Are The Training Sessions?

Generally, we train until the sun goes down. Make sure you bring enough water because there are not too many water fountains around. Then it's off to the Duke of Kent

How Do You Get To Sunnybrook Park?

Sunnybrook Park borders on 2 major intersections:

1)Eglinton Ave and Leslie St: If travelling along Eglinton Ave. (east or west it doesn't matter), turn onto Leslie St. and go north until you see the Sunnybrook Park sign on your left hand side. Follow the road all the way into the park. Make sure you always keep to the right if you come to a fork in the road. Landmarks: If you pass the horse stables, then you are on the right path. Just keep following the road until you reach the playing fields.

2)Lawrence Ave and Leslie St: If travelling along Lawrence, turn onto Leslie St. and go south along Leslie St.. The Sunnybrook Park sign will be on your right hand side as you approach Eglinton Ave.. Follow the road in. (see above)

For those who needs pictures/maps look below. It's not the greatest map, but it should give you a general sense of where you are.

Note: Leslie St. is the vertical line running up and down the page. Sunnybrook Park is written on the map. You can not get into the Park from the residential area (on the top left), if you want to get a short cut. Follow the directions above and you should not get lost.
